Seven Reasons Why I Journal

WHY?
  1. To Be Grateful
    1. I have a gratitude question in my journal template.
    2. It gives me a chance to review my life and see what I feel grateful for.
  2. To Remember the Important Lessons
    1. I write down what I have experienced and what I am learning from it (also in journal template).
    2. If something keeps coming up then it gives me a reason to look deeper and what to work on or get help with.
  3. To Look for What I Want to Grow
    1. I was given some challenging questions by a friend, I modified them a bit, but the essence is the same, how could I have shown up even better…
    2. When I ask this question, I have to dig a bit, but I always see a way that I can grow tomorrow.
  4. To Get Better at Writing
    1. Anything you want to get better at you have to do.
    2. Journal writing gives me a great way to write regularly.
  5. To Be a Better Planner
    1. I will often have a little reflective time to think about what is really important to me
    2. I can put this in my journal with a few action items.
    3. For Next Year
  6. For My Daughter
    1. It helps me to be a better dad now (by reflecting and growing)
    2. I also have something that I can give her later
  7. To keep parts of myself alive that may not be able to be expressed right now. (Survival skill)
